Jesus before Pilate
Today we will ponder SILENCE as a means to Union with Christ.
Prayer: Silence in the Heart of Jesus, Fill me.
Our Lord was questioned, interrogated, berated, humiliated, despised. He the Word made Flesh. He is Silent. SILENCE. A FULL SILENCE we feel here in this painting. Contemplate Jesus. How often do we sin because of 'lack of silence': silence of mind, of the lips, of the heart. How often do we sin, by trying to explain, excuse, return, retaliate, cut down, gossip etc...Silence begins first in my thoughts, then in my heart, then in my 'being'. Silence within my soul, enables me to allow God to 'be GOD' to work through things, silence within my soul, enables me to commune with Jesus.
Mother Teresa said: "The Fruit of Silence is Prayer, the Fruit of Prayer is Faith the Fruit of Faith is Love..."
A priest just shared with me the other day, a wise quote his mother always said to him; "You are the master of your unspoken word and the slave of your spoken word."
