"For both Mother Teresa and Juan Diego, Our Lady was a concrete presence to be met with, welcomed, known, cherished and learned from": Mother Teresa taught us as sisters, to "live in the company of Mary, which implies an ongoing daily encounter with her unseen, but powerful presence. This requires not only faith, but also the willingness to invest the time to draw near to her as 'Mother.' "Our Lady's Presence draws us closer, by God's design, into mysteries we cannot see."
"We see exemplified in the lives of both Mother Teresa and Juan Diego four important attitudes of soul necessary for our Lady to intervene in our lives:
1) Simplicity-Poverty of Spirit: Essentially childlike littleness, being 'who we are before God in all simplicity', His beloved child.
2.) Trust: Simple faith in the presence, power and role of our Lady in our lives in God's plan for our lives.
3.) Humble Obedience: An Obedient and Humble Spirit- "Let it be done to me according to your Word."
4.) Contemplation: "Cultivating and developing a contemplative attitude in prayer, and in life, a sense of Childlike wonder at the beauty of God's creation and the majesty of His Being, an ability to marvel at His gifts and blessings, and to take nothing for granted."
Prayer: "Mother of God's precious child, I am precious too, He grew up and died for me, and He gave me you, your my Mother too, I will trust in you, that I am precious, like your precious child. (MC Hymnal)
