Mary set out
and traveled to the hill country in haste
to a town of Judah,
where she entered the house of Zechariah
and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
"Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me,
that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you by the Lord
would be fulfilled."
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit, come by the means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Thy well beloved spouse. Amen
When Love (God’s Love) enters our hearts, something very powerful takes place, there is an immense “fullness” and profound sense of joy and peace, we feel so full, we want to live and move in this Love always. Love born of God, also sets us ‘free’ with the desire to return Love. Let us contemplate Mary, we see a young pure virgin who forgets herself, packs her things and sets out to serve her cousin. How she must have pondered the Archangel’s greeting over and over along the way as she traveled to Elizabeth. She must have longed to share with another woman, who would understand her. She must have hoped Elizabeth would believe her. Mary , Spouse of the Holy Spirit, must have radiated a very Holy Light. I love to think of her as the first ‘Sanctuary Light” announcing the Real Presence of Jesus! Mary the Tabernacle …Mary the Sanctuary Light. Let us contemplate the Face of Mary. She is full of Joy, because she believed the Word spoken to her by the Angel sent from God. She is full of peace because she received His Word and carries the Word of God within her. We can learn so much from our Mother.
What Word has the Lord been speaking in the silence of your heart? Listen for His voice. What is he inviting you to receive and believe? It is of great importance to discern whose ‘word’ you are listening to at this moment- is it of God? or is the voice from another? Listening to God’s voice makes all the difference in the world.
Prayer: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, prayer for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
