Gospel Matthew 28:16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
+Come Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, enlighten me guide me strengthen me and console, tell me what I should do and command me to do it. I promise to be submissive to all you permit to happen to me, only show me what is, Thy most holy will . Amen
"Behold, I am with you always".....I love these words. In our Baptism we received God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit into our soul, the Holy Trinity came down to dwell in our soul. It is difficult to fathom this great mystery and gift! Its not just a thought, its a reality. Do I live in the light of that reality? Recalling that my soul, which animates my body, is capable of being a dwelling place for God. Even more amazing than that, is that God desires to dwell there, to be with us, to be in us! Here is the greatest gift of all, that we carry within our soul, Jesus, who gazes upon us with such tender love, who wants to guide us, love us, and speak to us all the time. He loves us so deeply that He wants to be IN US, not just near us, with us, as in one with us. I can recall Mother (Teresa) passing us in the hallways when I was a young sister and bowing gently as she passed you. One day I asked my superior why Mother did that and she said; 'go ask her.' It took me little while to work up the courage as a young sister, but I finally asked her and Mother looked me right in the eye and said in her deep raspy Albanian voice: "Sista (pronounced like that) I bow, to Jesus in you!" She recognized and honored the life of God in the other person's soul. As she looked in my eyes, her faith ignited my own faith in this great truth and I was never the same. From then on my awareness of his presence, only grew and grew and along with that grew, a desire to keep him company, to share with him throughout the day. This awareness of his Indwelling presence, in a sense that he is alive and 'operating/working' in our souls, becomes a reality that is the most comforting and reassuring truth of all, which leads to JOY
What then is JOY? Jesus Operating in You! When Jesus "operates" in you, there is 'activity' for Love is active. He teaches, guides, corrects, loves, consoles, encourages, enlightens, purifies.... God is active in our souls, what is our response to His lead of love? What do I want to do with this relationship that God started with me?
Prayer: Jesus in my heart, I believe in your tender love for me, I love you Jesus. (Mother Teresa's prayer)
St. Elizabeth of the Trinity: "He is always with you, be always with Him."
